Sugar, flour, and carrots are foods which can help beat constipation, or rather they are the ingredients for a sweet cake that everyone will enjoy and which will also do them a lot of good.
A bout of constipation indicates our intestines are lazy and are unable to remove unneeded substances as regularly as they should be able to. Primary constipation, the most common form, is caused by a diet that is poor in fiber and liquids. Secondary constipation, on the other hand, relates to the possible existence of a more serious intestinal disorder which may be neurological or gynecological in nature.
Intestinal disorders may arise during a particularly stressful period in life because symbolically they indicate a difficulty in letting oneself go, giving oneself to others, and instead indicate we are keeping our emotions hidden.
Why is a cake one of the natural remedies for constipation? Of the foods recommended to help prevent constipation, raw vegetables are at the top of the list, thanks to the fiber they contain. Carrots in particular help free up our intestines, and leeks also have a diuretic and laxative effect.
Here are the ingredients for this carrot cake:
200g wholemeal flour
180g brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
Work the butter with the sugar at room temperature until the mixture is creamy. Add the eggs one at a time and continue mixing.
Add the flour while sifting it, then the baking powder, and lastly, add the grated carrots.
Grease and flour a cake mold and pour in the mixture.
Bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees C for 40 minutes.
